C & W Cafe

picture There's nothing fancy about C & W Cafe, a red brick building on East 23rd Street. But this family owned business, owned by Carl and Willetta Hill, is where the magic happens at mealtime six days a week, drawing hundreds of customers for good times and captivating home-cooked soul food.

Carl, who is the head chef specializing in down home soul food cooking. He has been cooking since he was a child and still cooks some of the dishes that earned him merit badges when he was in the Boy Scouts. Willetta handles the day to day operations and is one of the friendly faces that greet you when you enter the cafe.
